Who I am

I'm Jody Stoddart, a web developer based in Johannesburg, South Africa. I'm the responsible party for personal information collected through this website. You can reach me at howzit@jodystoddart.com.

What I collect

Only what you type into the contact form: your name, email address, optional phone number, your message and, if offered, the type of project. Nothing else is asked for.

Why I collect it

To read and reply to your enquiry, and to keep a record of that conversation. I don't sell your information, I don't add you to mailing lists and I don't use it for advertising.

Who it passes through

This site is hosted on Cloudflare, which also runs the spam check on the contact form. Your message is delivered to my business inbox by an email delivery service. These providers handle your information only to get it to me, and some of them may process it outside South Africa.

Cookies and tracking

This site doesn't use analytics, advertising pixels or tracking cookies. Cloudflare may set strictly necessary security cookies to keep the site and the contact form safe. If that changes, this page will be updated first.

How long I keep it

Enquiries are kept for as long as the conversation or a related project is active, then deleted or archived. Ask me sooner and I'll delete yours.

Your rights

Under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) you can ask what I hold about you, ask me to correct or delete it, or object to how I use it. Email me and I'll respond. If you feel I haven't handled your information properly, you can complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa) at inforegulator.org.za.
